Competition Terms and Conditions
1. The Promoter:
The promoter of this competition is Bimber Distillery Ltd. (company number 07515908), trading as Bimber Distillery Ltd, registered at 56 – 58 Sunbeam Road, London, NW10 6JQ, United Kingdom.
2. Entry Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older to enter.
Entries are open to residents of countries to which we currently ship - please check our website for eligible locations.
Employees of Bimber Distillery Limited are not eligible.
3. How to Enter:
Purchase a £10 ticket via the dedicated competition page on our website www.bimberdistillery.co.uk
Answer a skill-based question correctly to qualify for the prize draw.
4. Competition Period:
The competition runs from 10th December 24 to 27th December 24.
5. Prize Details
One Winner will receive ownership of a full 200L ex-bourbon cask.
The cask will be filled with new make spirit from Bimber Distillery at a filling strength of 63.5% ABV and stored under bond at Bimber Distillery’s warehouse.
The prize includes the first five years of storage.
The winner will be responsible for all subsequent storage, bottling, and labelling fees.
Bottling must be carried out at Bimber Distillery, and the spirit cannot be removed from the bonded warehouse until it is bottled.
The winner will receive a Certificate of Cask Ownership, and will have the right to sell or transfer ownership of the cask.
6. Ownership & Compliance
Ownership is subject to compliance with the UK Warehouse Owners and Warehouse Goods Regulations (“WOWGR”).
You confirm that:
You are over the legal drinking age in your country.
The cask is for private consumption or gifting to a private individual and not for resale unless you have HMRC-approved documentation to do so.
Ownership is not transferable without written consent from Bimber Distillery.
7. Maturation and Bottling
Maturation: Natural evaporation (angel’s share) of 3% annually is expected. The Supplier provides no guarantee regarding the volume remaining at bottling.
The spirit will remain at Bimber Distillery for a minimum of three years and one day.
Bottling: Bottling is mandatory through Bimber Distillery and includes options for cask-strength or regular strength (45% ABV).
Costs for bottling, labelling, duty, and VAT will be communicated at the end of maturation and must be paid before bottling.
Delivery charges are the responsibility of the winner.
8. Taxes and Compliance:
Excise duties and VAT at the time of bottling will be payable based on prevailing UK rates.
9. Additional Terms
Storage Fees: Storage is free for the first five years. After this, an annual storage fee of £160 (subject to inflation) will apply.
Samples: One 100ml sample per year can be requested for a nominal fee.
Insurance: The prize includes warehouse insurance for the first five years, covering leaks and repairs but excluding losses due to natural evaporation.
10. Cask Ownership Transfer:
Ownership cannot be transferred without written consent.
11. General
The contract of competition includes the Certificate of Cask Ownership and these Terms and Conditions.
This competition is governed by UK law and subject to the jurisdiction of English courts.
